Connect your Tournant books to Claude and ask questions in plain English. About ten minutes, start to finish.
What It Does
Ask Claude reads your Tournant books and answers questions about them, the way you'd ask your accountant. It sees orders, guest accounts, what's owed, suppliers, wages and your profit and loss.
What You Need
- A Tournant account with Ask Claude early access. Ask for access.
- The owner or accounts role in Tournant. A floor-staff login connects, but gets much less back.
- A Claude account that can add custom connectors. Free accounts can add one.
- A browser for the setup. The Claude phone app can't add a connector yet, but once it's added it shows up in the app too.
Turn It On in Tournant
In Tournant, open Settings → Integrations. You'll see the connection address for your account. Copy it.
Add Tournant to Claude
Open claude.ai in a browser. Go to Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it Tournant and paste the address. Claude's exact wording moves between versions: look for adding a connector by URL.
Choose What Claude Can Do
Claude sends you to Tournant to log in. An approval screen shows your restaurant and exactly what's being asked. Approve it, and you're back in Claude with the connector live.
Ask Your First Question
Start a new chat in Claude and ask about your restaurant by name. Claude will say when it's reading from Tournant.
Permissions
Your guests' phone numbers and emails are masked unless you ask for one, and that request is written to your audit log. Disconnect any time from Settings → Integrations in Tournant, or by removing the connector in Claude. See our privacy policy for what is shared.
Troubleshooting
Check the address matches the one in Settings → Integrations, then remove the connector in Claude and add it again.
It shows for accounts with Ask Claude early access, and only for the owner role. Ask us for access from the contact page.
Changes need two things: the switch in Settings → Integrations, and a fresh connection. Remove the connector in Claude, add it again and approve.
Each approval lasts 30 days. Claude asks you to log in and approve again. Nothing is lost and you don’t need to re-add the connector.
Ask it which report it used and for which dates. If it still looks wrong, send us the question and we will look.
Ask Claude will be part of the Growth plan. During the Beta we switch it on by hand for early-access kitchens.
